The Bernardsville Library Foundation was formed in 2011, with the purpose of raising private funding for the town's public library so that the library would be able to continue to operate at a level of excellence without regard to variations in public funding. 

 

          The Bernardsville Library Foundation Endowment was established at about the same time, with the purpose of raising additional funds, which invested over time, would produce enough interest income to offset the gap between municipal funding and the public library's operational budget. The Endowment is currently valued at $ 886,139 (as of 2/28/2025). With the help of generous donors and corporate partners, the Foundation hopes to raise the total value of the Endowment to $2.5 million by 2028.
